Design A Future Without Trafficking on January 11th!

SlaveFree Madison announces an interactive community event to mark National Human Trafficking Awareness Day with creativity, education and action: “Designing a Future Without Trafficking.”  Hosted and co-sponsored by Change, a fair trade fashion boutique, this event presents an opportunity to not only learn about trafficking, but also to network, question, create, and act.  Attendees will hear directly from local service providers about what trafficking really looks like in Dane County, create t-shirts to raise awareness in the community, and learn what action steps we can take today to design a future without trafficking.

For the hands-on activity, participants may bring a t-shirt to use or purchase a fair trade, organic t-shirt at the event for $10.  No previous experience required!  There will be stencils and materials as well as examples and inspiration to get you started.

The event is free, but your donation to local nonprofits enters you into a raffle with amazing prizes: Stoughton Opera House tickets, overnight stay at Hyatt Place, Student Union Theater gift certificate, handmade hula hoop and more.  Change Boutique will donate a portion of the entire day’s store sales to local trafficking organizations, so feel free to shop before or during the program.
